Why am I seeing "rate expired" error?

Category: Errors & Delays · Last updated: 10.03.2026

Exchange rates are locked for 10-20 minutes when you create an order. If payment isn't received within this window, the rate expires to protect both you and PLATOV from market volatility. Simply create a new order with the current rate.

Why Rates Expire

Cryptocurrency prices can change rapidly. The rate lock protects you from receiving less due to a price drop, and protects PLATOV from rate manipulation. The 10-20 minute window gives you enough time to complete most payments.

What to Do

Create a new exchange order. The new rate will reflect the current market price. Have your payment method ready before creating the order to ensure you can pay within the rate lock period. If you already sent payment on an expired order, contact support — your funds are safe and will be processed or refunded.
